New and Improved: Renovations at The Beach Club

Eva Faircloth - June 03, 2019

The Beach Club Resort and Spa in Gulf Shores has been a vacation staple on the Fort Morgan peninsula for many years. Families flock to the sprawling 86-acre village for vacations filled with upscale one- to five-bedroom rentals, amenities, dining, recreation and, of course, stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico. Many of our guests wouldn’t consider it summertime without their annual visit to the resort.

Over the years, The Beach Club has been well-loved by travelers near and far who plan their vacations around Alabama’s white-sand beaches. This year, renovations and refurbishments began to ensure families continue creating happy memories for years to come. Stay up-to-date on the latest renovation and beautification projects happening at your favorite Gulf Shores resort.

Completed Renovations at The Beach Club

Some projects are already in the books—DONE! Guests will now enjoy updated areas inside The Clubhouse, including the fitness center, The Spa & Salon, Coast Restaurant & Sushi Bar and the club desk. The fitness center is 40% larger than before with all-new equipment and The Spa & Salon has everything from new floors and paint to new, state-of-the-art pedicure chairs. The size of the salon has also increased and the entrance has moved to The Clubhouse lobby. The Clubhouse received quite the makeover as well with a relocated club desk, renovated elevators, new flooring and fresh paint, including the indoor pool space.

The resort’s signature restaurant, Coast, also got in on the refurbishments with new lighting and fresh paint. Both accentuate the beach-front ambiance already enjoyed by guests. More renovations for Coast will follow this fall.

Avalon and Bristol, the resort’s eastern-most condominium towers, were refreshed with new sod, new pool furniture, elevators, along with fresh paint and lighting.

Current Renovation Projects

In an effort to maintain beautiful, lush grounds, a new irrigation system is being installed. While replacing an irrigation system isn’t the prettiest thing to behold, it doesn’t affect anyone’s stay and the investment is a hearty cornerstone to preserve the outdoor beauty of The Beach Club for many years to come. The digitally-controlled, state-of-the-art system is scheduled for completion by the end of August 2019. New lighting and landscaping installations are estimated to be complete in October. Guests can expect a tropical oasis with new plants, sod and lighting.

The Catalina tower is poised to show off a fresh, new look with new pool furniture, sod, paint and some additional repairs. Views remain unobstructed throughout the construction phase. Catalina is projected to be complete in July.

Guests who have previously enjoyed the Doral tower will enjoy an extensive makeover that will be complete at the end of August. Renovations include new coatings on the floors and, like other towers, new paint throughout the premises. This summer, guests may see ropes and scaffolding on both the north and west sides of the building, but no obstructed south-side beach views are expected.

Catalina and Doral will be re-coating their walkway floors in the fall. During these times, the corresponding floor will be closed, and the units on that floor inaccessible.

As construction wraps up all around the resort throughout the next several months, The Beach Club continues to be a place where busy families come to reconnect. Bring your family and create happy memories at the new and improved Gulf Shores’ resort.
