4 Festive Ways to Celebrate Christmas in Gulf Shores

Instead of getting caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, why not relax with a Gulf Shores vacation? Take some time out to soak in the joy of the season and spend time with family enjoying great Christmas events in Gulf Shores.

And that’s only the beginning of magical holiday events. On Dec. 2 and 3, enjoy a seasonal favorite when The Coastal Ballet Presents: The Nutcracker at the Orange Beach Performing Arts Center. The performance is at 6 p.m. on Dec.2 and 2 p.m. on Dec. 3.

On Dec. 6, the Baldwin Pops present ’Tis the Season at the Erie Meyer Civic Center, located at 1930 W. 2nd Street, Gulf Shores. This magical concert, which begins at 7 p.m., is sure to get you in the holiday mood. There’s even a special visit from Santa.

On Dec. 10, enjoy a highlight of the holiday season with the Annual Christmas Lighted Boat Parade. Held the second Saturday each December, the decorated fleet leaves at 4:30 p.m. from LuLu’s in Gulf Shores and ends at about 8:30 p.m. at Cobalt in Orange Beach. Watch the parade from one of the restaurants along the Intracoastal Waterway or set up chairs and view the festively lighted boats from the banks of the Canal.

On Dec. 17, kids can get a last-minute visit with the Jolly Old Elf during Breakfast with Santa at the Erie Meyer Civic Center. Starting at 8 a.m., families can dive into a wholesome breakfast complete with sausage, bacon, eggs and pancakes. Admission is $5, while children 3 and under are free.
