Gulf State Park Fishing Pier -
The new fishing pier at Gulf State Park opened in 2009 after Hurricane Ivan destroyed the previous one. The new and improved pier, stretching 1,500 feet long, is the longest fishing pier in the Gulf of Mexico.It stands 20 feet above the sea. Pier facilities include concessions, fishing licenses and equipment, restrooms, shaded picnic tables, fish cleaning stations and plenty of room for reeling in the catch of the day. The pier is open 24 hours a day, year-round.
Gulf State Park Trails -
Discover the diverse ecosystems of the Gulf Shores on a leisurely stroll, energized jog or bike ride on one of the well-maintained trails of Gulf State Park. All trails are flat and easily accessible. Wander through the Catman Trail to Orange Beach, the Gulf Park Oak Ridge Trail to the golf course, or Rosemary Trail that runs beyond Middle and Little Lakes. Other trails are interspersed throughout the park.Gulf State Park Nature Center -
Learn about Gulf Shores plant and wildlife at the Gulf State Park Nature Center. Considered a living museum, the Nature Center features extensive information about local wildlife, ecosystems and habitats. The Center offers a variety of guided walks and educational programs. The Nature Center is open Monday - Saturday from 9am to 4pm, unless otherwise noted.
